monitoring,
evaluation
and learning
Evrima has designed and carried out smart, adaptable monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) programs for international development implementers and donors around the world. At its heart, Evrima’s MEL consulting is focused on helping our clients achieve the results they strive for. This often begins with working closely with program implementors to develop a theoretical foundation for their work, in the form of a theory of change or logical framework or more informal framework. We then work collaboratively with program teams to design a flexible and straightforward MEL plan that is based on a research feedback loop whereby the findings from research are incorporated directly into the program in a timely, transparent and strategic manner.
Evrima’a approach to MEL is based on usability. Each part of the MEL plans we design produces information clients can apply directly to programming. Our approach stresses flexible, non-burdensome data collection processes, and emphasizes research as a means to improve outcomes and support every phase of the program cycle. Our approach is underpinned by effective performance monitoring that allows evaluations to move beyond verification of targets to hone in on a more nuanced learning agenda and impact measurements. Our focus on continual learning and adaptability fosters accountability by ensuring client resources are appropriately used; that programming is relevant, practical and efficient; and that when there are issues or concerns, they are addressed promptly and effectively.
