APPLIED RESEARCH

  • Evrima’s qualitative research has included both traditional and more innovative methodologies, such as:

    • in-depth interviews

    • focus groups

    • panel studies

    • digital anthropology

    • behavior change audits

    • cognitive studies and

    • participatory and action research.

In designing qualitative research we draw on a host of inquiry methods including probing, sorting, laddering and projective techniques to ensure that our findings are as nuanced as possible. Our services include designing research instruments, conducting fieldwork, training interviewers and moderators, diving deep into analysis, presenting strategy to clients, and everything in between.

  • Evrima has overseen hundreds of surveys all around the world, both among nationally representative populations as well as specialized communities. We utilize advanced analytical tools including descriptive, inferential and exploratory data analysis methods - all with a high degree of rigor.

Our repertoire encompasses a range of quantitative research designs, including

    • descriptive

    • correctional

    • quasi-experimental and

    • experimental.

Our technical expertise allows for high levels of oversight and quality control at each fieldwork stage including sampling design, interviewer training, piloting, instrument test, data quality and management, and analysis. Even the quantitative studies we conduct often have at least some qualitative element to provide context and depth, as we believe strongly in the power of mixed-methods approaches.

  • Evrima works with clients to design smart, adaptable evaluations to answer context-specific questions across a wide array of development sectors. When developing sampling, data collection and analysis methodologies, we select approaches to generate the highest quality and most credible evidence corresponding to the questions being asked, taking into consideration time, budget and other practical considerations.

Evrima has designed and carried out evaluations for international development programs in all parts of the world. We helped out clients develop or ground-truth theories of change and logical framework and establish feedback loops that facilitate learning.

Our approach to planning and conducting evaluations is built on a continuous research, learning, programming loop whereby we collect and analyze data, modify continually, pilot innovations and evaluate rigorously.

  • We support in-person, hybrid and fully remote research. Among the virtual methodologies Evrima offers are:

    • Mobile ethnography

    • Online focus groups and interviews

    • Panel studies

    • Social network analysis

    • Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI)

    • Online surveys

    • Web-based experiments

    • Research on social media

    • Statistical and content analysis
